Hand Painted Shaligram

The beauty of this divine relic lies in its story of how a curse turned into a boon. Shaligram as mentioned in the holy scriptures is a form of The Preserver, one of the trinity, the almighty Lord Vishnu. He assumed the form as the result of a curse laid on him by none other than his devotee Vrinda, or also popularly known today as ‘Tulsi’. When both assumed their respective forms, one of them as a stone, the other as a plant, the beauty of the story stepped in. The God realized the devotion of the devotee, and in the form of Shaligram he therefore announced that he would never accept any offering unless it had a tulsi leaf on it and proposed to be by her side till eternity in the form of Shaligram. When respected and worshiped with Tulsi, it is written that the devotee receives marital bliss, fertility, all material comforts of life, good health, valor and success throughout their journey in this lifetime.
